Get on the Bus

Get On The Bus brings children and their caregivers from throughout the state of California to visit their mothers & fathers in prison.

An annual event, Get On The Bus offers free transportation for the children and their caregivers to the prison.

Each child is provided a travel bag, a photo with his or her parent, and meals for the day (breakfast, snacks, lunch at the prison, and dinner). On the trip home, a teddy bear with a letter from their parent and post-event counseling.

Get On The Bus is a program of The Center for Restorative Justice Works, a non profit organization that unites children, families and communities separated by crime and the criminal justice system.

Get On The Bus can only take place through the generosity of individuals and groups who have a heart for this special event. We can always use more help:

Volunteer to be on a local Get On The Bus Team. We welcome donations of all sizes:

Event sponsor: $1500 (send by April 1st and get your company’s logo on the Event Day T-shirt!

Bus sponsor: $500 (send by April 1st and get your name on the Event Day T-shirt!)

Family sponsor: $300

Child sponsor: $75

GOTB Event Updates!

GOTB is pleased to announce an additional Mother's Day visit at Folsom Women's Facility May 18th! Mother's Day events will also be on 5/4 at CIW & on 5/10/13 at CCWF. Father's Day events will be held at CMC on 6/1, SQ on 6/7 & CTF/SVSP on 6/15.
